Doukades is situated 11 miles northwest of Corfu. It nestles back from a large cliff in some of the most dramatic scenery. There are numerous lovely old village houses and grander Venetian buildings. Sourounded by countryside and olive groves its a favourite place for walkers to come and breath in the atmosphere and enjoy the views. There is a pretty square with a few shops and Tavernas and the lovely Church of the blessed Virgin. The village has numerous small paths and alleyways weaving in and out the many villagers gardens sewn with their many vegetables and the most necessary vine. In June there is the celebration of St. John.
