Kouloura in North East Corfu

Kouloura

Kouloura is a tranquil little bay on Corfu's North East Coast.

The name Kouloura derives from the Greek word for 'ring shape' or life bouy because of the shape of the tiny bay that is set amongst the back drop of cypress trees and pines.
Its tiny harbour shelters fishing boats and there is a beautiful private house which stands on the site of an old fortress.
There is a small traditional taverna here and a small church which belongs to the house.
