The main street offers a mixture of traditional and old fashioned shops alongside more modern business premises. The top of the village is home to the large rectangular church of Agios Georgios which was built in 1750 and elevated so that it originally overlooked the whole town.
Lying inland the main route into the village is by road, although buses do run in the summer months.
