This picturesque bay is situated in the central western area of Corfu. The bay holds much of the myth and legend for the island, with it's strong claim to being the shore where Odysseus was washed upon after his voyage from Calypso's Island
Ermones lies between two headlands, with a mixed sand and shingle beach and clear blue water. The Ropa Rivers runs into the tightly curved bay across the middle of the beach, which are overlooked by a number of tavernas. The seabed shelves fall quickly into deep waters, making it perfect for strong swimmers but less family friendly than other bays in the area.
There is the Corfu Golf and Country Club where the meandering stream flows directly through offering a true sense of peace and tranquillity. This is the only club on this side of the island, and with it's magnificent views and well kept course, it is said to be one of the best on the Mediterranean.
