Alikes is situated on the eastern shore bay of Lefkimmi. This is a very small and peaceful town, with little modern trappings generally found in this area.
These are mainly salt plains, and is home to thousands of migrating birds are attracted to the site for its rich source of food, and many of the disused pools in the Spring and Summer.
This is completely untouched not just by the tourist trade but by civilisation! There is little accommodation, however rooms can be rented in the homes of the locals, who are mainly farmers. This is a perfect place to visit if you really want to break away and be at one with nature.
