Sinarades is one of the most beautiful towns on the island. Set within the greenery of the surrounding mountains and with a main street which runs though traditional old stone buildings, it is hard to see any tourist influence here at all.
It has an authentic atmosphere to it, and in the centre of the main street stands the original medieval bell tower, with the twin bells still intact and in use on special occasions. The attractive square is a festival of colour, with many of the stone buildings painted in burnt oranges and vivid yellows! The main square is where you would find a perfect cafe or bar to relax in, however the selection of shops is limited.
It is here where you can find the Folk Museum of Central Corfu, which is a two storey farmhouse reached by narrow staircase. Part of the building is a reconstruction of a 19th century village house with a selection of traditional costume, furniture and instruments to view.
