Lefkimi in Southern Corfu
Corfu Properties for Sale in Lefkimi
The far south of Corfu may be dominated by the larger town of Kavos, however Lefkimmi, the second largest town on the island, is the capital in terms of culture and character.
This is the main hub of the surrounding farming and vine-growing industry and shows the visitor that there is more to the area than just a beach! It takes a step away from catering for tourists, and is a place where woman still dress in traditional costume and donkeys can been seen being used as transport. The town itself has very few shops dedicated to tourist shopping, and it is here where you can buy beautiful furniture and antiques etc. The architecture of the town is still very traditional and a complete contrast to the modern town of Kavos neighbouring Lefkimmi.
It is reached by a duel carriageway which leads around the main towns of the south and stops at the busy Lefkimmi port, where you can get a ferry to mainland Greece or surrounding islands.
