Kontakali is a small roadside village which has been developed to a thriving resort north of Corfu Town.
The resort has an excellent range of cafes and bars and the whole village has been expanded and modernized in the recent years. At the northern end of the resort a lane leads right down to the shore and the marina. The stretch of pebble beach offers a wide range of attractions, from watersports to boat hire from the local marina. The marina itself has a capacity for over 800 boats and caters for most services needed by the discerning visitor, including car hire.
The old village is a quieter alternative to the main street with its attractive houses covered in bougainvillea and traditional Greek tavernas. There is access to Gouvia by a branch road which is quieter alternative than the main road
